you are the 2009 TCRA Overall Category One Points Champion (Male) and the 2009 TCRA USCA class Category One Points Champion (Male).

Frank Gray is 2009 TCRA Overall Category Two Points Champion(Male) and the 2009 TCRA USCA class Category Two Points Champion (Male).

A paddler is automatically entered into the Category One (High Competition) contest either: a. becoming ineligible for Category Two by virtue of becoming a Category Two champion (in any class) in 2008 or subsequent year or b. simply by entering a Category One race (a paddler can be simultaneously entered into both Cat One and Cat two competition). In 2010 Frank, Samantha Hilker, Debbie Richardson and John Baltzell will be promoted to Cat One consideration only joining Tommy Yonley, Gary Gibson, Erin Magee and Teddy Gray who were promoted out of Category Two in 2008.

Don Walls will again be eligible for Cat One in 2010. Will he be eligible for Cat Two in 2010? The rules don't say. Question for the December TCRA board meeting.

Thanks for the clarification. And it seems to me that if winning category 2 makes someone move up to category 1, then winning category 1 would make them ineligible for category 2 in susequent years.

The rules look fairly straight forward to me but some how I didn't win the category one class. Maybe someone can explain the "All adult paddlers will earn points toward Category One and Category Two awards until and unless paddler has won a Category Two award or has self-declared eligibility in Class One points only." rule to me.
